Historical Tours
If your interest is in more modern history then let us guide you around the battle sites of the Spanish civil war with trenches, fortifications and shell holes providing a poignant backdrop to this story. The front line was within a few km of Revenga (the setting for Hemingway’s ‘For whom the bell tolls’) and the remains are clear to see when one knows where to look.

Experience Castilla’s rich cultural and historical heritage including Segovia’s impressive Roman aqueduct and the last gothic cathedral in Spain. Smaller towns also boast more than their fair share of fascinating monuments and buildings like the castles of Coca, Cuéllar, and Pedraza, the royal palace at San Ildefonso de La Granja, the hill top preserved medieval towns of Sepúlveda and Turégano.
Bird watching
Famed for its birds of prey, the countryside around Segovia is home to a wide variety of birdlife. The gorges in Segovia and Soria are particularly noted for their breeding Eurasian White-headed Duck Oxyura leucocephala, Griffon and Egyptian Vultures, Golden Eagles, Red-billed Choughs, Kites, with larks and Stone-curlews on the surrounding dry páramo, and with a great deal of luck, wintering Alpine Accentor and Wallcreeper in the gorges too.
